From Empty Rooms to Empowered Classrooms
In a quiet corner of Lalitpur, Nepal, stood a small community school striving to make education accessible to all. Known as Samata Shiksha Niketan School, it is recognized for offering quality education at an incredibly low fee of just Rs 100 per month, ensuring that even families with limited means can send their children to school.
Despite its inspiring mission, the school faced challenges with limited space, unfinished classrooms, and a lack of proper learning facilities. Many classes were conducted under temporary roofs, and students had few materials to support their lessons.
Through our School Infrastructure Improvement Initiative, we extended support to Samata School to help enhance its learning environment. With a grant of NPR 412,500 (approximately €2,934), the school was able to complete painting and decoration work in its newly built classrooms in Wochu Height, Lalitpur, Bagmati Province. Freshly painted classrooms, vibrant walls, and well-furnished learning areas have since transformed the atmosphere of the school.
Today, the once quiet compound hums with the sound of learning and laughter. This initiative goes beyond improving infrastructure. It embodies our belief in education as the foundation for opportunity. By contributing to a school that keeps learning affordable for every child, we’re helping strengthen a community’s future one classroom at a time.
